Natural Fat Restoration Treatment
Lipoderma®: Replacing Lost Fat With Fat in Wilton, CT
Aging, weight loss and time all thin the layer of fat that gives your face and hands their soft, youthful shape. When that layer shrinks, hollows, sagging and wrinkles become more noticeable. Melluna Whole Body Health & Aesthetics now offers Lipoderma® in Wilton, CT. It’s a non-surgical injectable that restores that lost layer with real adipose (fat) tissue instead of a synthetic gel.
Traditional fat grafting requires liposuction to harvest your own fat. Lipoderma® skips that step. It’s a ready-to-use allograft, so there’s no donor site, no harvesting procedure and less time spent recovering.

The Lipoderma® Difference
Dermal fillers add volume to a space. Lipoderma® replaces the tissue that was actually lost. It’s a complete human adipose tissue allograft, made from carefully screened donor fat. It’s processed in an FDA-registered tissue establishment under the FDA regulations that apply to human tissue products.
Because Lipoderma® is natural fat, it’s designed to look and behave like your own tissue. You’ll see results right after treatment. The tissue then keeps integrating and remodeling over the following weeks and months, so the final result develops gradually.
Many of our patients are on a medical weight loss journey, and rapid weight loss, including GLP-1-assisted weight loss, can thin the fat beneath the skin. That can leave the face looking hollow or drawn. Lipoderma® gives us a way to restore that fat as part of a personalized plan that changes along with your results.

What to Expect at Your Lipoderma Appointment
Your visit starts with a consultation. Your Melluna provider looks at the areas where you’ve lost volume, talks with you about your goals and builds a treatment plan around them. Lipoderma® is injected right here in our Wilton office, with no surgery or fat harvesting, and most sessions take 30 to 90 minutes depending on how many areas are treated.
You’ll see restored volume as soon as your treatment is done, and your results keep refining over the following weeks as the tissue settles in. Most patients go back to their normal routine soon after. Some temporary swelling, bruising or tenderness is common and fades over the next few days. Before you leave, your provider will go over your aftercare and let you know whether a follow-up visit is recommended.
FAQs
What is Lipoderma®?
Lipoderma® is an injectable fat restoration treatment that uses natural human adipose tissue to replace lost fat. It isn’t a synthetic filler. It’s a complete adipose tissue allograft designed to restore the fat layer that supports healthy, youthful-looking skin. Lipoderma® is offered at Melluna Whole Body Health & Aesthetics in Wilton, CT.
How does Lipoderma® work?
Your Melluna provider injects Lipoderma® into areas where fat has thinned or been lost. It adds natural fat volume right away. Over the following weeks and months, the tissue integrates and remodels, and your results continue to develop.
How is Lipoderma® different from dermal fillers?
Hyaluronic acid fillers add volume by filling space with a gel. Lipoderma® restores the fat itself, which is the structural layer beneath the skin. Because it’s real adipose tissue, it’s designed to look and feel like your own natural fat.
What is the difference between Lipoderma® and Renuva®?
Both are fat-based treatments offered at Melluna. Renuva® is an adipose matrix that signals your body to grow its own new fat cells, with results building gradually over about 16 weeks. Lipoderma® is a complete adipose tissue allograft, so it adds natural fat volume starting the day of treatment. Your provider can help you decide which one fits your goals, anatomy and timeline.
How is Lipoderma® different from traditional fat transfer?
Traditional fat transfer requires liposuction to harvest fat from another part of your body before it can be injected. Lipoderma® is a ready-to-use allograft, so there’s no harvesting procedure and no second treatment site to heal.
Can Lipoderma® help with facial volume loss from GLP-1 weight loss?
Yes. Rapid weight loss, including weight loss on GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide, can reduce the fat beneath the skin. That can cause facial hollowing, sagging and changes in your facial contours. Lipoderma® restores the fat that was lost. At Melluna, it can be paired with our medical weight loss program as part of a whole-body plan.
When will I see results from Lipoderma®?
You’ll see results right after treatment. Over the following weeks and months, the tissue continues to integrate, and the final result develops gradually. Your provider will walk you through a realistic timeline for your treatment areas.
How long do Lipoderma® results last?
How long results last depends on the person, the treatment area and the amount used. Lipoderma® is a newer treatment and long-term data is still emerging. Your provider will talk with you about what to expect and whether a follow-up session would help.
Is there downtime after Lipoderma®?
Most patients have minimal downtime. Temporary swelling, bruising or tenderness is common and gradually improves over the days after treatment. Your provider will give you aftercare instructions before you leave.
